Dr. Panagiotis Koulouvaris has graduated from the University of Athens Medical School and School of Physical Therapy. He was specialized in Orthopaedic Surgery and he has completed Clinical and Research fellowships in Joint Reconstruction and Sports Medicineat the Hospital for Special Surgery Cornell University, New York.
He is currently Assistant Professor of the First Orthopaedic Clinic at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and International Ambassador of the Hospital for Special Surgery. He is Supervisor of the Postgraduate Diploma “Exercise & Health” of NKUA. He is also Supervisor of the Sports Excellence Program and Mobile Medical Units, an initiative and exclusive grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) and for for the implementation of "Education in Trauma" for medical students,nurses,rescuers part of the "Health Initiative" of SNF. He is member of FOCOS team in Ghana. He is also member of the Committee for the University of Athens’ Management of Natural Disaster.
He has been elite athlete of Triathlon and has participated in 15 Marathon runs and in 8 Marathon Swimming races. He has served as the Director for Sports and Culture in the Municipality of Vouliagmeni, Athens. He has also been Head Physician of the National Team of Triathlon and Rowing for Olympic Games 2004-2008.
