Katrin Spiegel was born in Israel in 1995; she began playing the violin at the age of five in the class of the teacher Marina Ziskind at the Conservatory of Herzliya.
In 2011 she began playing viola at the Raanana music center in the class of Marina Ziskind until she graduated high school in 2014. Between 2015 and 2016 she studied with Chaim Taub. In 2016 she continued studying with the teacher Roy Shiloah in the Jerusalem music and dance academy. In the year of 2017 she was accepted to study in the Barenboim Said Akademie in the class of Yulia Deyneka and will be graduating in the summer semester of 2021. Katrin participated in numerous projects of the Boulez ensemble during her studies in the Akademie.
She is a member of the Western Eastern Divan orchestra under the guidances of Maestro Daniel Barenboim. She is a part of the Perlman music program since 2014. She has participated in master classes with Itzhak Perlman, Ivry Gitlis, Ori Kam, the Borodin Quartet, the Jerusalem quartet, Joel Krosnick, the Emerson Quartet and many more. She played in festivals in: Florence 2011, Monton Festival 2012; in the spring of 2012 she played solo with
the Symphonette Raanana Orchestra. From 2011 to 2014 she played in the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and the David Goldman Program for outstanding young musicians. She participated in chamber music courses in Jerusalem and ‘Zeist music days’ in the Netherlands between the years 2014-2016.
Since 2017 she participated in numerous projects by ‘Musethica’ both in Israel and in Germany.She graduated from Thelma Yellin high school of arts in Givataim attending the classical music department and was chosen to play solo with the school orchestra in the tour of February 2014 in Israel and France.
She got a scholarship from the America Israel foundation in 2013, a scholarship from 'Ronen Foundation', a scholarship from 'Roy Foundation', a scholarship from the AICF in 2015 with the Daliah and Elly Horovitz foundation inc. and a scholarship from the AICF in 2017.
Between the years of 2014-2016 she served in the Israel Defense Force as an outstanding musician in the IDF Quartet and as a music teacher.
