The Voice of Youth: Anxiety in the time of the pandemic.

Thibeaux Hirsh shared with the audience at the Alternative stage of the Greek National Opera about a difficult period of his life, when a problem with his leg left him bedridden just as the COVID-19 pandemic was starting.

He isolated himself in his house, feeling increasingly stressed. "I lost control of my mind, I felt that the world was being destroyed and I with it," he said.

"I had to handle this myself; we were all in isolation because of the pandemic. There were no counterbalances to our feelings,” he said, explaining how he felt at the time.

Thanks to the support of his friends, relatives, and a therapist he started to feel better but stressed that not everyone has the same access to health systems and special support structures.

“We need to create non-discriminatory societies!” he concluded.
