Student 

Maria Papadopoulou was born in Rethymno in 2006. In 2021, she graduated from the 2nd Gymnasium of Rethymno, with a grade of 20/20 (Excellent). She holds the Proficiency in English (ECPE-University of Michigan) and studies piano. Her interests include Rhetoric and she participates in competitions. On June 26, 2021, she was named best speaker in the finals of the Rhetorical Competitions of the European program of debates #climateofChange. On April 18, 2021, she was a member of the three-member team, which won 1st place in the Gymnasium category and 2nd overall, in the 3rd Pan-Cretan Student Rhetoric Art Competition, in the category of debate. During the 2020-2021 school year, she participated in the European Erasmus+ “Building active and critical thinking students” program, with teachers and students from 5 countries: Greece, Spain, Italy, Poland, Slovenia. The program included debate competitions, held with mixed teams of students from all countries, on the topic of Language Learning. In March, 2020, she participated in the 4th QLS Online School Debate Festival Motion: This House believes mass tourism should be banned. Lastly, in March, 2019, she participated in the 3rd QLS Online Debate Festival Motion: This House believes all zoos should be closed.
