Humanitarian Futures and Strategic Foresight Advisor
Aarathi Krishnan specialises in humanitarian futures and strategic foresight. She has worked in humanitarian and development aid globally for over 15 years, and the last 10 with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent. She currently focuses her work on reimagining the humanitarian system at intersection of humanitarian futures, strategic foresight, and systems transformation.
She supports a range of international humanitarian organisations on how to embed utilise humanitarian futures and foresight to drive transformation, including the UN in Cambodia and Macedonia, the Royal Cambodian Government, UNDP, UNHCR and ICRC. She is also working on research initiatives with a range of partners, including the World Economic Forum, on inclusive technologies, AI and Civil Society Futures. She recently led a global strategic foresight process for the Red Cross Red Crescent movement of 191 countries to design and develop its Global Strategy 2030 aimed at transforming the Red Cross and Red Crescent network over the next decade.
She is specifically interested in issues of planetary health, inclusive and equitable technology futures, new forms of growth, inclusion, intersectionality, and power, with a specific lens on decolonised and feminist futures.
