Savvy is a Statistics Officer at UNICEF in New York where she is responsible for supporting the statistical analysis, monitoring and reporting work on the situation of children, adolescents, and women related to HIV and mental health. Savvy previously worked at UNAIDS in Geneva and Johannesburg where she provided backstopping and in-country support for the implementation and adoption of the Health Situation Room project in 10 eastern and southern African countries, which is an innovative data visualization platform that integrates data across different disease areas and national health information systems to drive decision-making. Prior to UNAIDS, Savvy served as research manager for Girl Power, a combination HIV prevention study for adolescent girls and young women in Malawi.
Savvy received a Master’s degree in Global Mental Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health in Health Equity and Social Justice from Johns Hopkins University.
