Dr. Marie Barnett is an Assistant Attending Psychologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. Her clinical care and research focus on the psychosocial care and mental health treatment among children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer. Working alongside multidisciplinary medical teams, she has the privilege to work with patients at all points along their cancer journey. Cancer becomes an indelible aspect of a patient’s and family’s life in many ways. Part of her responsibility is to help them build the confidence to tell their own stories, embrace the unknowns of treatment, and identify their new normal.
