Actress & Co-Founder, Bring Change to Mind

Glenn Close, an eight-time Academy Award nominee, made her feature debut in The World According to Garp, earning her first Oscar nomination. She was subsequently Oscar-nominated for The Big Chill, The Natural, Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons, Albert Nobbs, The Wife and Hillbilly Elegy. In 2010, Close Co-Founded Bring Change to Mind, a non-profit dedicated to ending the systemic stigma and discrimination around mental illness. The organization’s top priority is the establishment of stigma-free, evidence based and peer-led Bring Change to Mind High School Clubs across the United States.  With 500 clubs currently active, the program reaches millions through its 80,000 student advocates and messaging campaigns.  The organization was established following Close’s first-hand observation of battles with mental illness within her family and the determination to take significant action to eliminate stigma.
