Sussan Deyhim: Beauty and the beast
Summer Nostos Festival is honored to host Sussan Deyhim, one of the most intriguing performers of the international art scene.
Composer, vocalist and a performance artist, Sussan Deyhim became internationally known for creating a unique sonic and vocal language imbued with a sense of ritual and the unknown.
She has performed with international orchestras such as the Polish Radio Orchestra and the Krakow Philharmonic and collaborated with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, U2 and Peter Gabriel. She has composed the score for 7 video installations by Shirin Neshat including “Turbulent” winner of the Venice Bienniale Golden Lion. Among her soundtrack works is her collaboration with Alexandre Desplat for his Oscar nominated score for Argo.
Her music, rich in complex and beautifully executed vocals, remains true to the spirit of her ancient heritage while pointing to the future with a very personal and poetic dramatic sensibility.
