Veteran US Federal Reserve Official
Terrence J. Checki is a veteran US Federal Reserve official who was at the forefront of international financial diplomacy for more the three decades. Terry served as an Executive Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, a member of the Bank’s Management Committee, and as the head of its Emerging Markets & International Affairs Group. He functioned as the Bank’s chief international troubleshooter for most of his career, and is well known among industry insiders, in both the public and private sectors, for his contributions to the management and resolution of the economic and financial dislocations that have confronted many developing and developed nations and their creditors over the years. He currently serves as an independent director of the Hess Corporation, a trustee of the Franklin Funds, and in various advisory roles. He is also a member of the boards of directors of the Foreign Policy Association, the Council of the Americas, the Economic Club of New York, and the Tallberg Foundation. Mr. Checki holds an M.S. from Columbia University and a B.A. from St. Peter’s College.
